I was so lucky to have taken the M girls portraits before, just a few short months ago. It was back when I first started taking pictures, and their wonderful momma took a chance on me. We captured some really beautiful pictures of them then, and I feel like I was able to really get some truly gorgeous shots of them this time around. It was a beautiful evening, and the sun was shining just right, again.(We're really starting to get along well, the sun and I.)
Its so nice to be able to not only know, but actually catch such a wonderful family, being themselves, on camera. They are the sweetest, most genuine family, and you can see it all over their faces.
And watching these two sisters, I can't help but see my own two girls. It makes me so happy to think of the bond that my babies will have forever. Always have someone to turn to, to trust, to confide in. Makes those first days after I found out we'd be having a second baby so soon a little sweeter.
Such a lovely family!
Thank you so much M Family! You have a beautiful family! I had such a great time capturing your gorgeous girls and "prom pose"! Can't wait for the Spring!
Wife to a smokin' hot railroader. Mama to 3 gorgeous daughters and boxer puppy named Brody. We move across the country on occasion and I love to take pictures. I'm usually in need a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Lots of talk about marriage, babies, and life in general. There you have it.

The S Family {Family Photographer: Slidell, Louisiana}
With the time change comes so many things. There's the obvious, getting dark early, leaves changing, cooler weather. But there is so much more to embrace about Fall. Louisiana has its own version of Fall, completely different from other regions of the country. It seems to take ages for a cold front to finally reach us, and by the time it does, its already dissipating. So until mid December, we flirt with 80 degrees for a few days, then we don't reach 65 degrees for a few days. But there are the days of transition between, where something fabulous happens. There are no mosquitoes, no icy breeze, no sweltering heat. Its like Louisiana feels just like the inside of a house with the thermostat set on 70. Its.... perfect.
And The S Family soaked up every last second of the perfection that was this Friday afternoon. Hearing little Man D tell Momma S about how beautiful the landscape was and how we might never be so lucky to see such a gorgeous sunset again. Talk about perspective.
These were the sweetest twins, and they were so fun to watch. I made a comment to their grandmother about how nice they were to each other, and to be honest, my brother would have pushed me into the water by this point. But the connection between twins is so different. "They just love each other so much," she said. They were watching out for each other, and for their momma.
It was a lovely site to see: Momma S, Grandmother S, Mommas close Friend B, and Twins D and T, all happy and so thankful for each other. It was a privilege to be able to see such support and love throughout this family.
And oh, man, the BIG brothers, their gorgeous chocolate labs, were such a part of the family, they just belonged in their family portraits.
And then, something happened. Something that I have never had happen during a photo shoot, ever. I caught rays of sunshine. Not sun spots, not a glare. Actual rays of sunshine. It was absolutely incredible.
Momma S, thank you so much for asking me to take your portraits! I had a great time, but its always easy with a family as beautiful as yours!

The G Family {Family Photographer: New Orleans, Louisiana}
A Sunday morning in City Park has a way of setting a mood all on its own. The warm early sunshine, geese wandering around, and the sound of lucky little ones brought to play on the playground can somehow reverse even the worst of moods. We had it. The pond, the shade, the sunshine. We spread out a gorgeous quilt next to a pond, under the cool cover of one of City Park's majestic Oaks. But this little beauty didn't need any help. She was so happy and smiley, I just couldn't believe my eyes. This was the perfect photo shoot.
And oh, that dimple and crystal blue eyes!
And if the beautiful dress and delicate little crochet flower headband wasn't enough for you, we've got more. So much more. There is nothing sweeter than a little nakey baby sprawled out by a pond in City Park.
This sweet baby was just adorable.
I've known Momma G for many, many years, so to see her with a precious little one of her own was such a treat. Its obvious how much her and Daddy G love this little princess. It was the happiest of mornings, and I was so thrilled to be able to capture it through my lens. Such a lovely family.
And a perfect family picture for your viewing pleasure:
Thank you so much Karyn! You have such a beautiful family, and it truly was a privilege to be able to play with gorgeous Baby L on such a lovely morning!
